LIC Arts Open Exhibitions and Fine Art Update
2012 has been such an exciting year in all fronts so far! As well as all the new experiences with my little growing bundle at home, and all the excitement with wedding photography, I’ve had some wonderful things happening on the fine art side of things too.
The latest was that my show was featured on the Eleven 11 Loft, Diego Salazar Gallery space as part of the Long Island City Arts Open Festival (which is ongoing this week, with some amazing art! I highly recommend it!). My exhibition, Silverware, was on display along side gorgeous sculptures by Jack Howard-Potter and beautiful paintings by Paula Eliott. It is always so much fun selecting and putting together a show and even nicer to get to see the different reactions that people have to your work… and the space was gorgeous! Many thanks to the lovely Paula Elliot and Karen Dimit for all their work organizing at Elelven11 and LICAO for such an amazing festival!
Here are a few shots I took when I wasn’t busy having some of the food and mingling :-)…
It was a wonderful afternoon! If you would like to check out the work (and much more), the show is going to be up for the duration of the festival (until next Sunday) at Eleven11 Lofts, 11-11 44th road, gallery 202, daily from 12-6pm.
Next is the opening of the show I am curating with Bernadette Torres at Malu this Friday (in a couple of days!), also part of the Long Island City Arts Open Festival:
I simply love the work of the artists featured in the show and cannot wait!
The only sad part was saying goodbye to Jessica Maffia‘s beautiful exhibit (the first for the Art at Malu series) that we had for the last month and a half:
It is so wonderful and inspiring to be working with such talented people and be involved with so much art this year! I can’t wait for everything else that is in store!
